Sara. 22. Colorado
I love yoga, cats, the earth, holistic/organic/natural/whole foods, cameras, flowers, camping, biking, snowboarding, blankets, tea, travel, sunshine.

And following life
where ever it takes me.

Be confident. Too many day are wasted comparing ourselves to others and wishing to be something we aren't. Everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses, and it is only when you accept everything you are - and aren't - that you will truly succeed.
Lunch is the best! Brown rice pasta, broccoli, sun dried toms, basil, spinach, chicken and more. #nomnomnom #healthy

I absolutely despise the FDA.
RECORD BREAKING ONE MILLION AMERICANS TELL FDA: WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT IS IN OUR FOOD
Our whole lives we have been convinced that the FDA is like a “protection” for us. That if something is FDA approved it is safe, and something that is not approved isn’t safe. This is all completely wrong.
The FDA isn’t concerned for our health. They will lie and deny that a product they passed is unhealthy. Why? Money. If this item makes the government money, and has no short term effect, then they don’t care about the long term affects.
I don’t understand how they can be so heartless and greedy. Our bodies are built to live so much longer than 80(ish) years. But we are slowing killing ourselves. We are tricked into thinking harmful items, aren’t harmful.
I have to quote the movie Food Matters here (A must see movie, if you haven’t already!). Dr. Andrew Saul, Therapeutic Nutritional Specialist, said “Good health makes a lot of sense, but not a lot of dollars” This couldn’t be more accurate.
The very first scene of this movie the show a quote by the hippocrates that says “Let thy food by thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food.” Chemicals (found in processed foods) and growth hormones are NOT supposed to be in our bodies! But it makes for longer lasting food, there for being able mass produce with item without having to throw any out. It makes for faster growing and bigger animals, in turn being able to sell more, faster.
Its all about the money. They allow people to sell these, obviously, harmful products and now people are getting sick. What do people do when they get sick? They go to the doctor, and the doctor gives them a prescription. I am not completely against all prescriptions. Antibiotics and pain relief works amazing, its the long term drugs that start to show problems. When really all you need is a proper, clean, mostly organic diet, and to keep up with daily exercise.
We should not be scared of the food put out in our stores. We have the right to know what we are consuming!

CHIA SEEDS!
6 Reasons Why You Should Eat Chia
What’s so great about these funny named seeds? These tiny raw, gluten-free, vegan seeds outperform more well known ‘healthy’ foods. They are jam packed full of minerals, omega 3 fats, antioxidants, fiber and are a complete source of protein.

Why should you should eat chia now? Because just 2 tablespoons of chia seeds has:
Five times the amount of calcium in milk (plus boron which helps you absorb it)
Three times the amount of antioxidants in blueberries
Three times the amount of iron in spinach
Three times the amount of fiber in oatmeal
Two times the amount of protein of any other bean, seed or grain
Two times the amount of potassium in a banana
Because chia seeds expand up to 3 times their original size when wet and have such a high fiber content (great for regularity!), they can help you eat less and stay full longer by bulking up your meals and crowding out fat, sugar and calories (great for weight loss!). Consuming chia seeds increase energy and endurance (great for runners!). They also help your body rebuild muscle after exercise and during and post pregnancy. Chia seeds have more Omega 3’s and a much longer shelf life than flax (and can be substituted in any recipe for flax).

I also picked up a few organic energy shots to try. I wake up at 330am every morning to be at work by 440, so usually I need a little pick me up. I have been taking the 5 Hour Energy, which works well with me, but I would not recommend it. It contains sucralose, artificial flavors, and EDTA, not good! So we will see how these work out.

 • Steaz Energy Shot (Berry)
 • Guayaki Yerba Mate Organic Energy Shot (Chocolate Raspberry) - yes I am a little concerned for this flavor!
cant wait for the farmers market!
